The Challenge

  • Principal inspection in line with CS450.
  • Coating survey in line with CM431 Maintenance Painting of Steelwork.
  • In-depth structural survey and non-destructive testing to determine the extent of section loss and corrosion.
  • The survey required working over water and at height.

Our Solution

  • The survey was carried out by IRATA-qualified inspectors under the supervision of a Level 3, in accordance with IRATA guidelines.
  • The team combined PCN-qualified NDT technicians, ICorr Level 3 coating inspectors and CEng MICE engineers.
  • This turnkey approach ensured all the relevant data was collected in one visit.
  • A rescue boat was on standby throughout so suitable rescue provision was in place in an emergency.
